Janet Chester was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa. She attended the University of Texas in Austin where she earned her BA in Linguistics. Later she attended the University of Texas in Dallas and the University of South Carolina in Columbia to work on her MBA, before moving to Highlands, North Carolina in 1989.
Janet and her husband were married in Highlands and have a combined family of five children. The children are all grown now and live in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Raleigh and Chicago pursuing their careers.
Janet enjoys traveling, reading, and advocating for women's education. She is a volunteer for the Literacy Council where she teaches English as a second language. She belongs to several organizations including the PEO Sisterhood, the American Association of University Women, and Phi Beta Kappa, and the Women's Commerce Club of Atlanta.
Her real estate career began in 1990 when she was one of the founding owners of a real estate firm in Highlands. She has not only been involved in land and home sales, but has also listed commercial properties. She is excited about her recent association with Keller Williams Real Estate Professionals, which offers her clients a marketing network for their properties and further real estate education for their associates. She believes in offering her clients and customers the best in professional service.
